Dog sledding is an experience that I feel everyone should have a chance to try. Whether it would be just a walk thru our dog yard with a chance to ask any questions you want, or the ultimate-----to try your hand (and body) at driving a team of excited Siberian Huskies. You get to experience the excitement that a dogsled team creates when they know they are going for a run. Then you get to experience the calmness and serenity of the snow-covered trails while the dogs settle into their business of giving you the ultimate winter experience. We have 3 packages available: The beginner’s package: Designed to give you the basic idea of what it’s like to have a team of dogs in front of you. This package is $45 per person and will probably leave you wanting more…We take one adult at a time (we can have a child ride along, depending on size), for a 2 to 3 mile ride/drive and you’ll get the basics of how to drive a team. 4 person maximum per day.
With me on board for your safety, and for the dogs safety, you can experience what it's like to drive a team of your own. The advanced beginner package: This package will require a person to complete the beginners package so they have an idea of how a team of dogs works and how to handle a sled….If you pass the course then you can return to the kennel and learn how to harness, hook up, and drive a small team of your own…This package is $150/person. Due to time restrictions we have to limit this package to 2 people per day. The Learn it All Package: This is a package that will allow you to learn all you can before you run out to buy a sled dog team of your own…Come spend 2 days at TrailsEnd Kennel. This package will provide you with enough information to boggle the mind…You can learn what it takes to own and operate a sled-dog kennel. You will also learn how to harness, hook up, and drive a small team of your own. With 15 yrs in this sport, we feel we have gained the experience to guide you in the right direction if you’ve decided you must have some dogs of your own. This package is $500/couple or family… These packages are not set in stone and if you have more people in your party that would like to experience the thrill of driving dogs then we encourage you to call or email us to see if we can’t work something out that would suit your needs. We are willing to try and put together a package that will work for you… If you want to enjoy other activities while up here in the north, we have endless trails for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, hiking, and snowshoeing. We also have some small lakes close by that are great for ice-fishing. You must bring your own gear for these activities but we would be happy to help you get where you need to go. We're
